Fall 2017 Certification Study Group – SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP

(September – December 2017)

The Lakes Area Human Resource Association (LAHRA) is planning to offer a SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification study group in the fall for anyone interested in obtaining the SHRM Certification. This study group will help participants prepare for SHRM’s December 1, 2017 – February 15, 2018 SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP testing window.

By earning your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential, you’ll prove your HR knowledge and your ability to apply that knowledge in the workplace. SHRM Certification affirms that you are a recognized expert in the HR field and that you are ready, willing and able to move your organization forward.

As the kids head back to school in September, stop and take time for your own professional development!

You can learn more about the SHRM Certification at www.shrmcertification.org. If you are interested in talking more about the LAHRA 2017 SHRM Certification study group or would like to register, please email me at Julie.Schulke@chrobinson.com.

Cost Details
Participant Costs - $675 will be charged to cover the purchase of the SHRM Learning System participant materials and associated administrative costs. In comparison, SHRM certification preparation classes through St. Cloud State is $1,049.

Non-Refundable
– Once the materials order has been placed, the participant payments are non-refundable.

Testing cost - $300 for SHRM member, $400 for non-member, which includes a non-refundable $50 application processing fee. Each participant is responsible to register and pay for testing on their own. Active LAHRA members who achieve certification will be reimbursed $300.

Other Information
Schedule – The SHRM learning system materials are designed across 12 sessions, three hours each (likely 6-9pm). We will begin the week of September 11th and will end no later than the week of December 11th. I will work with participants to determine the best day of the week to meet, and, if the group is interested, we can also set some Saturday or Sunday study dates.

Participation Minimum
– A total of five new (5) participants is needed to purchase materials and to support the study group. If we do not reach a minimum of five new registered and paid enrollees, the study group will be cancelled for 2017 and payments refunded.

Timeline – Our goal to commit to a study group is Monday, July 31st.
