You are invited to MNSHRM's first ever Legislative Conference on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 1pm - 3:30pm via Zoom! 

This conference is designed to help educate our members on legislative issues from both Republican and Democratic perspectives as well as provide practical tools for influencing the legislative process as human resources professionals!

Cost? $0. Thanks to your membership fees and your attendance at the annual State Conference in October, this event is free and open to all members of our local chapters and national SHRM members!

Time/Place? This conference will be held in a "short format" from 1pm to 3:30pm via Zoom. 

What? This conference will include updates from MNSHRM Leadership on employment related legislation being discussed at the Minnesota State Capitol.

Speakers include:

  • Jason Gabhart, the Director of State Affairs for SHRM! Jason will present on state legislative issues, trends, challenges, and tips on advocacy for everyday SHRM Members
  • Senator Robert Pratt, Chairman of the Minnesota Senate Jobs Committee will be speaking to the conference to update MNSHRM members on important activities within his committee including an attempt to amend the MN Wage Theft Act to make it easier for HR Professionals to administer.
  • Governor Tim Walz has asked the Commissioner of the MN Office of Management and Budget to represent him!

The Zoom link will be sent out the day before the event.

This program has been approved for 2.50 SHRM PDC's and 2.50 Business recertification credit hours toward aPHR™, aPHRi™, PHR®, PHRca®, SPHR®, GPHR®, PHRi™and SPHRi™recertification through HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®). CEU credits will be sent out the day after the conference.
